In 2023, the Regional Educational Laboratory (REL) Pacific––a service provider for the Institute of Education Sciences––facilitated an eight-month community of practice (CoP) with educators from across the Pacific education systems on data use and data culture in the U.S.-affiliated Pacific region. Subsequently, REL Pacific filmed interviews with K–12 and postsecondary education system leaders on their perspectives about the successes and challenges of nourishing cultures of data use in their systems, particularly related to their local cultural contexts. This roundtable discussion will feature reflections from CoP facilitators and Pacific education system leaders on data culture, data use, and data integrity. The audience is invited into the discussion of contextualizing available resources on data use from the U.S. Department
of Education in cultural and sociopolitical contexts that may share different values, assumptions, and practices.
